LENT: RENEWAL & REPENTANCE

After the season of Epiphany comes the season of Lent, forty days of preparation for Holy Week and the joys of Easter.  We prepare through worship, prayer, fasting, and generosity towards those in need others, because we realize we aren’t ready to receive the Risen Christ.  Lent in which we enter the wilderness with Jesus, asking the Spirit to show us who we are so God can show us who He is.

Many Christians throughout the church choose a Lenten discipline — something they “take on” or “put off” for the season in order to make space for repentance and renewal with the Lord. If you want to enter into Lent more fully but aren’t sure what to do, reach out to one of our clergy, and we would love to have a conversation with you!
