In our post-benefit/confirmation week, as we move our offices, we are not releasing a full-blown e-update. However, there are a couple of important items to share with you. We look forward to worshiping together this weekend.

Moving Day — Saturday, October 30

Just a reminder that we will be moving our church offices this Saturday, October 30th from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. We will meet at the Evangelical Congregational Church at 1713 Green Bay Rd (corner of Green Bay and Laurel) in Highland Park and load the truck to move to our new office location at the Redeemer Lutheran building. Lunch will be provided. We also need help packing, sorting, shredding, etc. throughout this week so please contact Brocki at 224-330-9988 if you are able to help in that way. Also, let Brocki know if you plan on being there Saturday (if you have not already responded to Otto's earlier request). We do have someone that has offered to watch the children in the nursery at the Redeemer Lutheran building if childcare is an issue for you. So, please let Brocki know if you would like to partake of that.

Our important learning/discipleship hour returns this Sunday morning at 9am. Professor Dana Harris will begin a month-long series on spiritual gifts in the church. Do you have a spiritual gift? Do you know what it is? We all have gifts imparted by the Holy Spirit for our mutual benefit and for God’s mission in the world. As we understand this more fully we will know joy as we take up our place in the body of Christ. In this series we'll engage with Scripture and hear from one another as we seek to strengthen each other and our common ministry. This is a class for everyone at Redeemer, so see you Sunday!

Discover Redeemer

Also returning this Sunday is your opportunity to learn more about who we are as a church, and the direction we are headed. This is great for new people, but also those who have been around a while and want to learn more. Over lunch for four Sundays we’ll explore who we are, what we believe and why we do what we do. We’ll also help you to think about how you might connect more fully to our community here. This Sunday we’ll look at the Anglican church, and how we fit in. Join us right after coffee hour.

Our Stewardship

Thank you for continuing to pray that God will meet our financial needs, even as we carry on our ministries and life together as a community. Our goal will not be met by normal means, but by God’s provision through his people, and this will only be realized through prayer and the responding sacrifice. Thanks be to God for his many abundant gifts to us, and for the freedom to give back in joy.
