SUPPORTING LOCAL FOOD BANKS

Local families continue to need food.

If you would like to support local efforts to support food needs, consider donating to the food pantry at local parish St. James.

Most needed donations include the following:

  • 1 lb. bags white rice
  • 1 lb. bags dry beans (black or pinto)
  • Canned green beans
  • Canned peas
  • Peanut butter (preferably smooth)
  • 1 lb. Spaghetti
  • Canned refried beans (black or pinto)
  • Ramen – chicken or shrimp flavor
  • Honey Nut Cheerios (no family size, please)
  • Pancake Mix
  • Jelly
  • Toilet paper
  • Paper Towels
  • Baby wipes

Donations of personal or hygiene items are also accepted. You can also write a check and designate the funds to go to the St. James food pantry (contact our office to learn more).

We are also encourage you to support the local efforts of the Northern Illinois Food Bank, who organize a mobile food distribution in Highwood every Friday.
