To say that our church community is walking through a difficult season in the wake of our rector’s resignation would be an understatement. The work of grief and healing takes both time and intentionality. We have gathered people and resources you can turn to if you are in need of some extra help and care.

Grief Resources

Pastoral Care

Individuals seeking pastoral care and prayer can reach out to one of the following people, two of whom are from outside of our community:

Mtr. Sandy Richter, rector at Christ Our Peace in Oak Park, IL

Counseling

For anyone who desires longer term, professional care, we are glad to give referrals to local counselors. We have funds available for those who might need financial assistance for mental health care. Contact Deacon Ethan to learn more.

Spiritual Direction

Some of us might also benefit from spiritual direction in this season. Here are two people to contact to learn more:

Lana Gentile is a spiritual director in our congregation and would be a good starting point if you want to know more about the benefits of spiritual direction.
Cindy Bunch (Deacon Ethan’s boss at IVP) is a trained spiritual director outside of our congregation who could be hired as a spiritual director or refer to others as needed.
