RESPONDING IN LOVE

We continue to pray and lament in the wake of the mass shooting in our neighboring town of Highland Park

Here are some concrete ways our community can respond in love and care.

  • Donate time/money toward crisis counseling. The Fenix clinic of Highwood needs mental health professionals to donate time for crisis counseling. As a donation based clinic, Fenix also needs financial donations to respond to the mental and physical needs of the community. Contact Ariana at 847-909-2004
  • Donate snacks/beverages. The Highwood library has recently begun using our lower level to provide mental health services for the community. They are expanding their hours of care and have requested donations of pre-packaged snacks and beverages that they can offer their clients while they wait. Contact the church office to learn more.
  • Donate to Highland Park’s Shooting Response Fund. The Highland Park community foundation has created a response fund. All donations received will go towards victims/survivors and organizations that support them.
  • Bring a meal to Redeemer locals. We are organizing meal trains for the families in our community who were present at the parade. Click here to sign up.

In addition, here is a list of resources from the Family Institute of Northwestern University to help children, youth, families, and community members cope after a mass shooting.

If you need help finding mental health care at this time or would like additional pastoral support, please reach out to Mother Amanda.
