OUR STORY
Church of the Redeemer began in the hearts of small group of people who gathered in a living room to pray for renewal in their communities.
Since that time, Redeemer has been on a pilgrimage, serving and worshipping in various locations on the North Shore of Chicago. God has shaped us in these years, forming us into a people rooted in worship, community, healing, and global relationships.
Now, nearly twenty years after that first small gathering, our years of “wandering” are coming to an end.
Church of the Redeemer is preparing to move into our own permanent facility in Highwood, IL. We are grateful for the many different places we have called home, and we are excited for this new season and the rootedness that a building can provide.
We know that a church is much more than a building.
Our prayer is that our new facility will deepen the things that God is already doing in our midst, the things that are important to us and that shape our mission as a church: experiencing and sharing God’s grace, mercy, healing, transformation, restoration, and saving truth. We also pray for openness to the ways in which our new community will shape us and God’s call to us in this exciting new chapter of our story.
